I consider myself lucky to have started my career with the biggest automobile company in India. I have been associated with Maruti Suzuki since the last 6 years. The journey so far has been very enriching and fulfilling. The tenure at Maruti Suzuki has helped me in evolving both... professionally and personally. Working in the Engine Calibration department has tested all the knowledge I gained about IC engines during engineering college days and has taught me a lot more than I already knew. One of the many good things about working at Maruti Suzuki is that one’s management skills are bound to develop along with the technical skills. The open and transparent work culture, the support that one gets from colleagues & seniors and the opportunity to take ownership of a task are the factors that keeps us motivated and is our FUEL.
Maruti Suzuki has given me a wonderful platform to embark upon a great corporate career journey. The last 6 years have been enriching in honing technical skills as well developing my managerial capability. The enriching GET training program at Maruti Suzuki has paved the way for my smooth transformation from a college student to a working Professional. he ...Head Office of Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan to work in close collaboration with the Japanese colleagues. In true spirit of this great organization, my efforts were recognized and I was awarded the ‘Maruti ACE’ Award for FY 2013-14. All these have been possible due to the supportive environment wherein the seniors across the verticals are easily accessible, in an open office set-up. Team work is a defining component of the Maruti Suzuki culture and it brings the best out of each individual. A great mix of Japanese management systems coupled with Indian values system motivates us to exceed targets with creative solutions, while keeping customer at the center of each decision.
I joined this great organization right out of management school and this perhaps was the best stepping stone to kick start my professional journey. I am currently working with the international marketing vertical, and the holistic approach towards business has helped me learn and quickly ...understand international trade. Since childhood, the definition of a car for me has been ‘MARUTI’ and I am sure to the majority of us as well. During the placement season in MBA, I already knew where I wanted to work. I still remember the day when I received the offer to join the Indian Automobile market leader – “...Maruti Suzuki India Limited.” In my current journey of more than 4 years, I have had an opportunity to improve my versatility and have an all-round development. Starting with the amazing experience of handling Sales in one of the most challenging parts of country i.e. Uttar Pradesh, to my current posting as sales manager in Punjab, the learning has been tremendous and fun because it gives me freedom to try out new/different things. I joined Maruti as a fresh engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur in 1984. It’s been 33 memorable years of enrichment and development. I feel privileged to be part of this family which not only helped me to grow in my professional stature but also fulfilled my aspirations of learning ...and growth. I have been through various domains like Supply Chain, Production Planning, Plant Control, Engine and Vehicle Plants including Plant Maintenance. This diverse exposure has helped me to understand the business in total and realize my full potential.
I joined Maruti after completing my graduation from IIT, Kanpur in 1989. I got an opportunity to be a part of the core team which was setting up the manufacturing lines for New models and Automation. The initial experience was of immense help in terms of honing my skill with regard to managing projects. Subsequently, the company gave me an opportunity to work across the business value chain. I joined Marketing & Sales vertical in 2001, wherein I started as the Product Manager, handling flagship brands like WagonR. Being from a technical background; it helped me in explaining the customer expectations to R&D effectively. Thereon, I moved on to become the Commercial Business Head in Sales and later headed Dealer Development and Used Car Sales Business. Currently, I head service vertical of maruti. I feel Maruti believes in investing in its people and building their capabilities. This helps it to develop well rounded professionals. I am a proud Marutian and feel privileged to be a part of this company.
My journey at Maruti has been exciting, challenging and full of learning. I joined Maruti as a GET in 1991, got the opportunity to get design training in Japan and have worked in product engineering and supplier quality assurance functions. I also received ample support and ...encouragement from my seniors to pursue my academic studies and completed my MBA and PhD while working here. Besides working on various roles in functional domain, I got opportunities to work on various cross functional projects and activities, including roles in industry associations and professional bodies. Built on a strong foundation with blend of Japanese work practices, Maruti fosters an open work culture, with focus on continuous improvement, team work and holistic people development including mentoring. Performance is rewarded well within the organization. In order to succeed, one needs to have a strong desire, determination to excel, be a dedicated team player and after all be a disciplined person .
