Debunking 6 Myths that people have about BS6 | Arenaworld

The government of India has already declared the implementation of BS6 emission norms from April 2020. However, many prospective car buyers have myths and doubts about BS6 which need to be answered. Maruti Suzuki, as India’s biggest car manufacturer, is leading the change towards the transition to BS6 norms and has launched 11 petrol models since April 2019, including Alto 800, Baleno, WagonR (1.2L), Swift, Ciaz, Dzire, Ertiga, XL6, S-Presso, Eeco and Celerio.

Since there is very limited information about the changes that BS6 is going to have on the passenger car market, Maruti Suzuki has taken the responsibility to debunk myths surrounding BS6 vehicles. Here are 6 of them: -

1. BS6 cars cannot run on BS4 fuel

“BS6 compliant cars cannot run on BS4 fuel” is one of the most common myths that the car buyers have. That, however, is not the truth. Every BS6 compliant petrol car by Maruti Suzuki has been thoroughly tested to ensure that there are no operational concerns when BS4 fuel is used.

2. BS6 cars have the same emission levels as BS4 cars

If that was the case then it would defeat the whole purpose of BS6 emission norms that come into force from April 2020. Maruti Suzuki BS6 compliant cars have 25% lower NOx emissions. In that respect, BS6 cars are cleaner and environment-friendly to drive.

3. BS6 compliant cars are still not available in the market

In 10 months of launching its first BS6 compliant petrol cars, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 5 lakh BS6 cars! As a matter of fact, Maruti Suzuki has 11 models available in its BS6 line-up at present.

4. There are limited options available

Another myth that many people have is the availability of options in BS6 range. There are 11 car models available in the Maruti Suzuki line-up for you to choose from. If you are planning to buy a BS6 compliant petrol car, just visit the nearest NEXA and Arena showrooms to know more.

5. BS6 cars are expensive

A marginal price hike offsets the advantages you get with BS6 compliant cars. Maruti Suzuki BS6 petrol cars are equipped with the latest technology that makes them BS6 compliant. Moreover, buying a BS6 car reflects that you are a responsible car buyer that cares for the environment as well as the future.

6. BS6 cars will have similar resale value to BS4 cars

Maruti Suzuki BS6 compliant cars have been engineered to be greener and environment-friendly to drive. Since this is the technology of the future, the resale value will be definitely better than BS4 cars.

When you opt for buying a BS6 car, you are making a choice that is better for the environment. To know more about BS6 and Maruti Suzuki’s BS6 line-up.
